A Note from the Editor
Hello to the Rewind Zone Community,
Welcome to the very first edition of Rewind Time.
When I started Rewind Zone, I wanted to go deeper than just "listicles." I wanted to find the real stories behind the films that shaped us. This month, that mission became very real. We have an exclusive conversation with a director who changed Hollywood—and a survival guide for the most chaotic time of the year.
As one of our founding members, you're seeing this before anyone else. Let’s hit rewind.

THE BIG EXCLUSIVE
The Norrington Mystery: Solved.
In 1998, Stephen Norrington gave us Blade and birthed the modern superhero era. Then, after 2003’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, he vanished. The rumors said he was "broken" or "in an asylum."
Stephen reached out to Rewind Zone to set the record straight. From inviting Sean Connery to punch him in the face to why he turned down the MCU and The Crow, this is the raw, unvarnished truth from the man himself.

THE DEEP DIVES
Ethics, Monsters, and Modern Cinema
We don't just watch movies; we analyze why they matter. This month we tackled two heavy hitters:
- Rewriting the Dead: When a creator passes away, who gets to decide the fate of their work? We explore the complex ethics of posthumous adaptations.
- Frankenstein 1994 vs. 2025: Kenneth Branagh’s gothic epic vs. the new era. How has our vision of the monster changed in 30 years?

THE HOLIDAY HUB
Finding Your Emotional Wavelength
Christmas isn't one-size-fits-all. Your relationship with the season is complicated, and your movies should reflect that. We’ve organized 25+ iconic scenes—from quiet reflection to dark comedy—to help you find the moment that meets you where you are.

The Golden Era vs. The Modern Machine
My kids were born in the 2010s. They have zero nostalgia for 1990. Yet they choose Home Alone over every modern Netflix original. Why can’t modern streaming replicate the magic of 1984–1999?
The Alternative Survival Guide
If you need something with a bit more bite (or a few more explosions) than the usual holiday fare:
- The Anti-Christmas List: 30 films for people who prefer explosions or psychological noir over carolers.
- The "Shitter was Full" Retrospective: 36 years of Christmas Vacation. From heart failure to $100M fortunes.
- A Shot of Holiday Acid: Why Bill Murray’s Scrooged is the ultimate 80s satire.

MOST POPULAR OF THE YEAR
The Stories You Couldn't Stop Reading
Before we look forward to 2026, here are the three deep dives that defined Rewind Zone this year:
- The Disappearance of Sarah Holcomb: She was the breakout star of Animal House and Caddyshack. Then, at 22, she vanished. We explore the heartbreaking mystery of where she went.
- Animal House: 47 Years Later: "Pinto," "Flounder," and "Otter"—where did the cast of the greatest frat comedy end up?
- The Lonesome Dove Trail: Tracking the legendary cast of the Western miniseries that changed television forever.

LOOKING AHEAD: 2026
Expect Great Things.
We are just getting started. I am thrilled to tease that early next year, we have another exclusive interview coming your way with a true legend—someone who is considered Hollywood Practical Effect Royalty. If you love the monsters, the blood, and the mechanical magic of the 80s and 90s, you won't want to miss this.
A JOLLY FINALE
As we wrap up the year, I want to wish you a truly Merry Christmas and a brilliant New Year. Whether you're spending the holidays dodging "awkward mistletoe moments," trying to unravel tangled lights, or simply binging your favorite 80s classics by the fire, I hope your season is filled with more laughter than a Delta Tau Chi toga party.
Thank you for being part of this small but growing community. You make the hunt for these stories worth it.
Stay Nostalgic,
Richard Wells Founder, Rewind Zone
